Previously, lacemaking machines were run on Jacquard technology in which the movement of the machine was directed by punched cards. Now I believe that most lacemaking machines are run on computer technology. But, would the computer version still be called Jacquard technology, or is the physical presence of punched cards required to use the term Jacquard technology? We are doing some editing on labels for the exhibit and I am unsure whether a statement implying that all lacemaking machines are run on Jacquard technology is correct. Devon
