Dear Arachne members, Someone on the list requested clarification of the "no advertising" rule (yes, it does exist!).
This rule was created at a time when some lace-making suppliers posted about their supplies on a fairly frequent basis. Sadly, there are far fewer suppliers among us these days. So some clarification is in order. I think it is acceptable to advertise something for sale as long as the announcement is not too frequent and is discreet. If you can post a link to a website, that would be best. If you are about to publish a book, by all means tell us about it! Writing a book is not an everyday achievement. If you want to sell some of your old lace-making books or equipment, this is an appropriate place to advertise. Hope this helps!
