Adding to the comment about not wearing lace or a pin
on the left side when driving...
A friend who is a paramedic, and my mother who is an
EMT, states that they always put the shoulder strap
under their arm, as they have seen many people with
slashed corrodid arteries from the seat belt. It is
shared as hopefully helpful information.
Wearing the pin on your left, one can always remove
the jacket, and I have put a dinner napkin,
handkerchief, or even changed jackets to preserve
things. A protective layer can also counter the
crease that can result over the breastbone if one
wears the seat belt according to manufacturers
suggestions.
A person's height, bustiness and pin or lace placement
can also certainly be factored in. Being tall, I
haven't had a problem, but I do hate creases over the
breast bone.
Just in case it helps. <smile>
Best,
Susan REishus
