Of course, and I am sure that factors into why the left side is the "pinned" 
side.  <grin>
Though I think it would be better to be a passenger no matter what, whether the 
chauffeur is hubby, friend or paid, as then various forms of lace can be 
executed en route!  <grin>

As far as the seat belt under the arm, these are suggested by very intelligent 
people, who also treat the head injuries.  I think that newer and new cars 
having air bags is a good counter to one jutting up and out of belt.
Being rear ended twice in my life, it wasn't the upward movement, but the front 
to back or side to side or twisting that did the damage.

Just more to consider, but a belt is good nontheless.
