While I recall readiing that rayon was a fiber that had been made from cellulose, I wonder if the rayon that is being made today has the very same content?

I haven't used rayon myself, but I have an early 20th cent. Maltese stole made from it, which was well made and is still in good condition, despite its previous home being a charity shop which laundered it "properly" before putting it up for sale. Only damage is that the joins between the strips were coming undone in a couple of places. The rayon certainly didn't stop the maker producing those beautiful pumpkin seed leaves.
