I have been given some vintage threads "Steamer Machine Silk" and
"Nora Silk Twist" which I would like to know more about. Both were
made in England, and are on old-fashioned wooden reels (older than
the sewing-thread reels I use). Does anyone know if these threads
were rayon, or real silk, please? One "Steamer" reel has '80/3' on
the label, but the other has a non-removable sticker reading '36'.
Any information, including the age of the threads, would be
gratefully received - thanks!
