Thanks to all those kind Arachne members who contacted me to say that my test message had finally reached Arachne. I don't know why my address was suddenly not recognised years ago and I've been a lurker who couldn't send to list even when I tried.
No more excuses. I'd better say something lace related now. Any hints about using variegated thread successfully? I've been using some Valdani thread as workers in a piece of Torchon and it's comming out in regular stripes - not the effect I wanted at all. Other times I've used it and the patterns been completely lost and a mess. What's the trick?
