BTW, Sarah Hadley's Lesson XXX, "Louis XIV Embroidery" in "the Lacemaker", 
Volume 5(2), No. 2, pp 25-32 (1912) informs us that it was "(called also 'Casal 
Guidi work')". Simply elevating it to fashionable status by calling it "French" 
or did these linens become associated with the household of  a certain royal 
Bee?
