I realize this list is dedicated to lace but I was hoping people could help me out with crochet history. Does anyone know about crochet in the 1950, in France? What material was used? I wondered if they used cotton or linnen. I guess probably cotton? And this is not done now, but I discovered that a lot of ladies copied the patterns from La Mode Illustrée (from the 19th century) and assembled copies and so made a new album. Why did they do this?
