At a recent computer market in Canberra, I purchased an Otek portable mini LED
lamp. It runs off 4 AAA batteries, or can be plugged into a USB port. It is
no bigger than a mobile phone, folds out in a "Z" formation, with the top bar
being a tiltable strip of LED lights. It weights only 89g, and comes in a
dinky little black velvet bag.

It is absolutely perfect for perching on a lace pillow to work by. The light
is bright and clear, it generates no heat at all, and the batteries seem to be
lasting well. It would be a godsend at workshops. Sadly, I have Googled for
this, and cannot come up with anything similar anywhere in the world. I have
traced the dealer I bought it from and he can provide me with more (all my
lacemaking friends want one), but no luck finding one commercially available.

Just thought I'd let you all know to keep your eyes out for a similar product
in computer shops!
