I borrowed what may be a similar light from Arachne friend Mary Tod at a workshop and now own two of my own. Mine is made by Mighty Bright and is sold at Borders Bookstores and other outlets in the US and perhaps elsewhere. It is intended as a booklight and also runs on AAA batteries (3) and has an AC Adapter allowing it to also run from an electrical outlet. It is very light (a dream compared to my Ott light which I used to lug around) and I use two...one on each side to eliminate pin shadows. It has 3 LED bulbs and a telescoping arm which can be focused at almost any desired angle.

At a recent computer market in Canberra, I purchased an Otek portable mini LED lamp. It runs off 4 AAA batteries, or can be plugged into a USB port. It is no bigger than a mobile phone, folds out in a "Z" formation, with the top bar
being a tiltable strip of LED lights.
