Gosh, I am such a lurker, now I'm not sure if I have the correct address to
send my question. (here's hoping)
Before I ask though - just wanted to mention that all the discussion on lace
stitches recently has been educational to me. Thank you all.
I have a question on another lace stitch - which was put forth at our
Tuesday lace meeting. Our club just received it's copy of Lace Express and
of course that means a lot of ooohs and aaaahs around the table. The *chaos
stitch* was the topic of interest to a number of the ladies and I was asked
to bring some questions to the 'arachne table'.
First now, am I correct in my recall, was the stitch thus - bringing the
worker across the passives like this:
HS,WS,HS and then on the return 'trip' the worker going back with the
opposite movements,
WS,HS,WS through each passive pair?
Are there any pins placed? (Other than the outside edges.) Are there any
crosses on the worker between the stiches?
(I apologize if I am asking obvious questions as I haven't got the book in
front of me now.)
And also, as the terms are not 'generic' in all countries could someone
please tell me, assuming the HS is two movements of CT or TC (depending on
the closed/open method) But, is the WS three (CTC) or four movements of
the bobbins?
If there is any other information anyone could share, that would be
appreciated too.
Thanks to all of you for making this forum such a great reference library.
