Thanks for that link, Caroline. The chart can be very useful. However, it only works for cotton-to-cotton or silk-to-silk. Each kind of fiber has a different density, and different fluffiness, and a different numbering system. They are not compatible (35/2 silk would be a very different thickness than 35/2 cotton). But when changing thread size without changing fiber content, that chart should be handy. Robin P.
