Clay - you make me smile :-)

Flipped seasons does take some adjusting to at first, as does figuring out
that the sun is in the 'wrong' part of the sky (goes to the south 'up' here,
and to the north, Down Under and other parts south of the equator). But
actually I rather enjoy it out here in the PNW - the rainy weather is far
more like Melbourne or Hobart in winter, so it's not a big deal for me to
cope with days of rain on end. Snow is still a novelty after 19 years of
having it in the US :-)

And snow at Christmas is like living a childhood fantasy of life in a
Christmas card (the snow ones) - not that I've had too many Christmas days
with snow falling. Oddly enough, snow falling on Christmas day is less
common than one would expect in Colorado. Snow on the ground can be a
possibility, but I've also worn shorts and a t-shirt on Christmas day there.
It's not always cold enough for long enough to freeze Evergreen lake for
skating on Christmas day - and the lake is at around 7200 feet or so.

As to what I'm working on - I can't hope to compete with my mother (even
though I know it's not a competition :-) ). I genuflect to her superior
busy fingers :-)

I have 4 BL projects on the go - 'Tulips' from Yvonne Scheele Kerkoff's
floral Beds book, my unfinished Beds lace table ribbon (from the 2006 IOLI
contest), my beds cuff from class with Jean Leader this summer, and a
pattern from an Anna magazine from the late 1980's on my travelling pillow
that rarely sees the light of day (edging for a supper cloth). I have some
tatting on the go (yardage from a half embroidered table cloth going back to
about 1979), and this summer I decided to try my hand at entrelac knitting,
and so have a wide scarf on the go that probably needs just 1 more ball to
complete it (I work on it while DS is at PT, so the office ladies keeping
asking to see how far along it is :-) - and they keep wanting to feel the
angora blend yarn. Can't think why :-) ).

So much lace and so little time :-)

Cheers,
Helen, Duvall, WA, awaiting the return of the rains after 2 or 3 days of
wonderful sunshine.
