Hi Ruth I have only used Bart & Francis Yaspe silk once - and then it was only as workers in torchon trails.
It was so long ago that I can't remember what the main threads were, but on looking at the finished mat they appear to be a spun silk and about the thickness of Special Dentelles, os the Yaspe in the trails is firmly packed. I don't remember any special problems with using the Yaspe, but then it was only two pairs to manage. From the scale of the pricking I think I would have been using Midlands bobbins rather than my large continentals, so maybe the hitch around the head worked better than making a hitch over threads wound onto the neck. I think that a scarf made with all Yaspe would be fairly soft and drapy, but maybe not as soft as a fine silk. How wide you make it is your choice! Depends on what you want to wear it with, how yo want to wear it and what suits you and your body build.
