Just noticed that my reply from yesterday only went to Craig so I'm
reposting it:

In my experience Fire Eagle has been steadily growing in usage. Support for
their API should be a goal. It basically works a data aggregate with pretty
advanced security and privacy control. One perk would be anybody who already
uses brightkite or one of the many other geolocation tools could feed the
data into identi.ca with minimal effort.

This would be yet another aspect of Laconica that would make appealing.
Sounds good to me.
