Hi, Because the filter depends on the catchall mechanism of a domain name, we're starting to receive spam based on guessed addresses. It was only a matter of time before this happened. I think something needs to be done about the way the filter works (and mentioned this in passing to Evan on IRC).
It's possible that a silent drop of email that comes to the filter with an address not in the form of what Laconica expects might be a quick step. The current answer about non member causes an email to return to the sender, which for spam will generally return to the postmaster. It's not much better than auto response, and we all know that generates a lot of junk.
