Hello,
I am trying to replicate the stocktwits functionality using
laconi.ca. What would be the best approach to add the '$' tag
feature (instead of a # tag) ? For obvious reasons I am reluctant to
start meddling with the source code, I would much rather write a
plugin, but is this at all possible?.
I'm a big fan of the Stocktwits.com *concept* - and, actually, I think
a lot of what they're doing in terms of aggregating messages around
topic areas is handled by laconi.ca by default.
Laconi.ca's groups function is a perfect way to deal with what you're
trying to emulate, I think - you'd create groups for the topic areas
(in your case stock symbols?), and then people can choose to join that
'group' and 'mark' relevant messages by including !groupname in their
message.
Each group has it's own timeline, and that means rss, atom, and unique
urls for each of those group timelines.
Guy.
