how does this bug connect to the issue we talked about? What worked for ages (or at least ages ago) was the stripping of „.“ and „-“. As far as I understood the initial message this thread is related to that question. The handling of non-ascii chars is quite a different topic (Albeit this issue seems to be solved; My disliking of the way it has been dealt with is expressed in the comment you mentioned).
