I assumed rights were the culprit, but I am using the rootdn's userid (manager).
And the ldap.log shows only this when I attempt a record deletion; May 30 19:33:23 s606524dl2sl167 slapd[12087]: conn=28 op=6 DEL dn="uid=ftp,ou=PRODUsers,dc=ldapdb,dc=net" May 30 19:33:23 s606524dl2sl167 slapd[12087]: conn=28 op=6 RESULT tag=107 err=53 text=shadow context; no update referral May 30 19:33:23 s606524dl2sl167 slapd[12087]: conn=28 op=7 UNBIND May 30 19:33:23 s606524dl2sl167 slapd[12087]: conn=28 fd=21 closed -----Original Message----- From: Roland Gruber [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2012 2:09 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Lam-public] Problem - "Server is unwilling to perform" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Rodney, On 30.05.2012 19:56, Rodney Caston wrote: > Getting the above error "Server is unwilling to perform" when trying > to edit or delete users/groups. this looks like a rights problem. Are you sure that your LAM admin user has enough rights? If yes then you should turn on logging to get more details. In /etc/ldap/slapd.conf turn logging on with the line "loglevel 256". OpenLDAP uses /var/log/syslog for log output. - -- Best regards Roland Gruber LDAP Account Manager http://www.ldap-account-manager.org/ Want more?
