is this to prevent the error message when trying to save a user without
password? Users without password cannot be created anyway (Samba refuses
them).
Can you give some more details like if the random password should be
shown to the user admin?

The password can be changed as always while the user is edited.
This prevents an account from being created without a Unix/Samaba
password.
