I was thinking of stuff like filing reports (after LangCom made a
decision) - there were things mentioned (bug reports?) which I didn't
even know or understood ('fraid I'm showing my ignorance publicly here;
I don't even have the suitable lingo). I'm mainly on LangCom for
advising on 639-3 codes and finding scholars for validating language
content. Most else having to do with "reports" or "filing" is technical
for me. So, I'm depending on others to decide whether Danny B. could
help with that. On my count it's now 1:1 (MF saying Danny wouldn't bring
needed technical expertise vs Gerard saying he would). Hoping to hear
more arguments on both sides (e.g. Amir: what kind of technical stuff
were you hoping Danny B. would do?) before I finalise my vote.

Anyway, thanks to MF-Warburg for making us aware of the
issues. Otoh, you yourself seem to have defended him in 2013,
saying "Decently active and known from other projects to have
a great experience to help with technical stuff." - so, okay,
I didn't read the entire list of all threads but we definitely
need more people on LangCom who can help with backlogs. Some
of us (myself included) do not have the necessary expertise to
handle those - different LangCom members are on this committee
for different reasons -, so if Danny B. were rejected, who
else would be willing and able to help with "technical stuff"?
Well, that was about Wikidata adminship, which does require
different skills than e.g. Langcom (and I would probably value
skills needed there nowadays to be different from how it was in 2013).
I don't really know what technical stuff you mean for Langcom.
There might be a certain backlog, but I know of nothing
tech-related. Therefore, I don't think rejecting this application
would lead us to have nobody who could help with technical stuff,
as there is no such stuff to be done.
Also, I don't see why Danny B. would have special expertise or
willingness to handle this unspecified technical stuff - the
application certainly doesn't say anything about it.
Letting my +1 stay for the moment (not unequivocally, though,
as the reservations expressed in the annual discussions around
his Global editinterface requests really do cause me
concerns), and fwiw,

That said, I have to oppose this request.
"Very experienced" with Incubator is not true, even though he
is a long-time sysop there, in the handling of a recent
request it turned out that he knew almost nothing about the
Incubator policy. He even offered to resign as a bureaucrat
back then, but didn't follow through with it.
Also in my past interactions with him I have never noticed an
interest in the Requests for new languages, so I do wonder
where this requests comes from now.
Also I'm very concerned about other issues surrounding him.
Many users have problems with his behaviour, as can be seen
in e.g. these requests:

told me that Danny B. claimed they are his "enemies" - I

Given these problems, I do not think it would be good if
Danny B. became a langcom member.
