A rarely used word is not a spelling error.

This problem is one of many similar problems. Thus, I suggest that you 'take
a step back' and decide what to do about the problem in general.

I think that a good solution is to have a category similar to the 'Commonly
Confused' words. Call it something like 'Probable spelling error'.
