And I did install jdk1.8.0_31 on Ubuntu, and tests fail. So definitely, this is Java 8. I had a quick look on incompatibilities but nothing seems to be similar to what we're using: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/8-compatibility-guide-2156366.html There is no stable OpenJDK 8 yet, so we cannot see if this is just Oracle.
