Thanks! I created the Breton version of LanguageTool. with the help of a few people who speak Breton better than I do, mostly Fulup Jakez. There are probably not many users of LT in Breton, so it's nice to read your message :-) It would be nice to add support for Welsh! I can perhaps help to setup LanguageTool for a new language and help on the syntax of grammar.xml. But I don't speak Welsh. I know that Welsh is related to Breton but the way to write the languages looks quite different to me. > I have wondered how many of rules apply to Welsh, but > unfortunately I'm unable to make much sense of the rules.xml > as all the comments are in Breton, which is a little different, > particularly in written form! A good number of Breton rules are about mutations. I understand that Welsh also has mutations, so perhaps some of the ideas in Breton grammar.xml can be useful, but the languages are different enough of course, so rules cannot be reused easily probably. > A few supported and unsupported languages are in the > old An Gramadoir svn repository, would converting/importing > all of these be of any use? If that does not work, rules from An Gramadoir can still be used as inspiration for writing rules manually in LT. I hope to see the addition of Welsh to LanguageTool. Perhaps I will then learn a bit of Welsh. But I don't have much free any more.
