I think it was the BZ series that had official virtualization support.
At least all information on the net reports the SZ series with disabled VT-x.

Does it have a Phoenix or AMI bios? For either is a patch out there to enable 
VT-x.
Sony's support is real crap. I've had a few contacts with them over various 
issues.
Nothing serious yet but annoying (like the missing option to turn off boot-up 
numlock 
in the bios, lcd dimming only after the OS is fully loaded etc). So I don't 
think I'll get 
another Vaio. Though I have to admit after it runs SXCE quite nicely (except 
suspend/resume) I quite like the beast...
