Your problem seems be in connect step, not in getting IP from the DHCP server, snoop/ethereal have no help. More helpful tool should be aircrack similar 802.11 frame sniffer...
Can you configure HostAP to monitor 802.11 frame exchange in association process? I recommand this debug method to you, although I haven't use HostAP before. > Maybe, if i perform a truss command, I thought that it could see what problem > is ocurring. With this info could debug more deeply into the trouble. Anyway, you can have a try. > Great was my surprise when not seeing activity in the card. > I think, the key is here: " Aug 15 00:06:43 solaris-devx > /sbin/dhcpagent[1107]: [ID 116611 daemon.error] interface bcmndis0 has gone > down ". > The dhcpagent cant take control of bcmndis0, the device falls. > What do you think about?. I don't think so. the issue is: when did this message happen? It must be after connection failure, right? if that's the case, this message should not be the key. Anyway, once I have a HostAP, I will investigate more. Thanks!
