While b60 still presents this problem on my notebook, I managed to isolate the 
offending package: SUNWdrmr, the DRM drivers.
I don't know what is happening, but a custom install with this package removed 
will botot and initialise Solaris successfully. Anyone knows what DRM is good 
for?
