I'm just trying out Solaris 10 on an HP NC6000 laptop and I seem to be
having trouble connecting wirelessly with the Intel Pro Wireless 2100. I
have the Solaris packages for the ipw and wificonfig installed and
everything seems to work fine... but, I can't seem to resolve WEP.

# wificonfig createprofile home essid=charmwood encryption=wep
wepkey1=1234567890 (the wep is an old 10-digit phone number)
#wificonfig -i ipw0 connect home
#ifconfig ipw0 dhcp

Everything goes well - no errors. The "caution" symbol over the
connection symbol in the lower-right corner leaves, so I think the
connection is good. But, upon opening a browser, there is no connection.
I can ping other computers on the network.

I have a couple years experience with Slackware and Debian and like both
of those Linux distributions - I just decided to see what the fuss about
Solaris was about.

Thank You!
