Judy and David, Yes, you're right. As you pointed out, the problem came from the 64bit mode. After I installed the ar5007 package and rebooted it in the 32bit mode, my PC could recognize the wifi as ath0 and now it works fine. (I'm writing this via ath0 on my PC. :))
