No. There are no conflicts, and it has the latest BIOS. Like I said, it runs
crud on my P4 and great on my Lenovo Core 2 Duo. Something isn't working
properly in the operating system itself to result in such crud performance.

Do file genunix, and compare the output of that to amd64/genunix. Obviously
no attempt has to be made to optimise Solaris for 32bit machines.
