The powernow driver doesn't currently support the P4m, as it lacks the appropriate CPU flag for Enhanced Speedstep.
I think the P4m's power management is stuck somewhere between Speedstep and Enhanced Speedstep in terms of functionality. The powernow driver only supports Enhanced Speedstep. This message posted from opensolaris.org
