I don't know what specific WiFi hardware you have, but I can tell you
that the arn driver (right up through build 133) has serious problems,
which range from severe packet loss in my case, to total failure for
other users.  I have not seen it cause system instability, though.

It is my understanding that the OpenSolaris arn driver is derived from
ath9k, and I have seen that ath9k works great under Linux.  I'm not
sure what the problem is with arn.

As others have said already, the SUNWarn downloads are out of date?but
there's no notice to that effect on the web site, unfortunately.

A patch was landed some time ago which was supposed to resolve
problems with the arn driver, but it appears to have had no effect;
the bug reports on arn are still open and I don't know what the
timeline is for fixing the driver.
