Actually, I'd go with a PC myself. I hear what you are saying about integration etc on the MAC, but if you get a Windows lappy that's got Windows 7 installed out of the box, you get something that's integrated, and even better, you are not bound by the pathetically small and expensive set of peripherals available for Mac. And your laptop comes with two mouse buttons. ;)
Also - Judging by the post to this forum not asking for help, and not asking for information, just a general wave of the private parts in our faces, I'd be tempted to think that they never planned to use (or even actually used) opensolaris for any other reason than to post "Here Comes Linux" to this list.
