If you let "burst" get calculated with default settings (don't specify the 6k) does it change anything?

Sometimes, I get correct measure for certain rates, but i often get measure that do not correspond to rate. For example, if rate is 500kbit, measure is 2000kbit/s... Can someone help me ?
