Hey Guys - let this one be for the moment. Since we haven't had an up to
date schema since 2.x - this isn't a regression - and while it is very
important, I need to talk to David about schedule tradeoffs of fixing
this for Wafflecone. I'd prefer to wait until 4.1.

See my comment on LPP-2300. The dtd task is a step in the right
direction, but not all of the steps. What we are really looking to
build is the tools/lzx+libraries*.rnc files and create a new
namespace that corresponds to it.
If you want to work on this, please assign 2300 to yourself. I'll be
happy to review. :)

I remember this now.
In WEB-INF/lps/schema, there's an ant task to build the dtd: "ant
dtd". We turned off this step in default builds because it was
sloooow and we hardly ever actually need a dtd.
When I do "ant dtd" on my machine, I run into the python problem
that various of us have been having, and which I haven't yet fixed.
We *do* build lzx.dtd on linux-builder, as part of the nightly build
process. It ends up in WEB-INF/lps/schema/lzx.dtd. I'll post it
somewhere.
MAMYE: posting an up-to-date copy of the schema on openlaszlo.org
should be part of the release process. Can you please add this to
the release process?

I don't know anything about how the DTD was generated, but do know
about the
way to produce a RNG format schema file from the compiler. You can
just run "lzc --schema " on a file and it will dump the schema it
generates in RNG format. I suppose that generating a sample app
which
includes all the components (and the rpc libs too) would generate a
pretty complete schema.
If there's a tool which handles converting that to a DTD, I can
help with that.

hi,
i am wondering if there is a new url for the dtd of OL4? Or is the
original
url from the ref-guide still valid but incomplete? Is this dtd auto
generated or written by hand? It would be very handy of there is
some kind
of auto-dtd-generater-script, not only for the plattform also for
bigger
projects to be able to validate the own code or to extend the
scheme and use
it in a editor with code-completion.
Current url from the ref-guide:
http://www.laszlosystems.com/lps/tools/lzx.dtd
for example from the refgiude chapter about editing:
