Interesting! I didn't know about the special status of "new:". Is this usage documented? It isn't mentioned in Chapter 33 except by use in the example.

But I do think it no longer works, or perhaps it doesn't work the way it would need to in the example -- where a "contact" node would have to be automatically created within the dataset for the entry fields to be visible.

Now that we have local datasets, do we need this notation anymore?
