Hi Rich I agree to your comments about Ajax - however the analysis has some revealing insights about Adobe Flex, Silverlight and Open Laszlo. Though all RIA technologies are exponentially growing, however Adobe Flex has steeper growth curve - Silver light is receiving good response from market as well and I heard it somehow allows search engines to index and read the content developed in Silverlight.

I don't think the "openlaszlo" and "laszlo" graphs can be added to each other since one job posting could use both "OpenLaszlo" and "Laszlo" as terms. Check it out: http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=%22adobe+flex%22%2C+silverlight%2C+javafx% 2C+openlaszlo%2C+laszlo Also, on a relative scale: http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=%22adobe+flex%22%2C+silverlight%2C+javafx% 2C+openlaszlo%2C+laszlo <http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=%22adobe+flex%22%2C+silverlight%2C+javafx %2C+openlaszlo%2C+laszlo&relative=1> &relative=1 And finally, note what happens when "ajax" is included: http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=%22adobe+flex%22%2C+silverlight%2C+javafx% 2C+openlaszlo%2C+laszlo%2C+ajax <http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=%22adobe+flex%22%2C+silverlight%2C+javafx %2C+openlaszlo%2C+laszlo%2C+ajax&l=> &l= True, ajax is used for more than just RIA, and has become somewhat of a meaningless buzzword anyway, but still...Wow! -Rich Khurram Samad wrote: Hi Rich I tried to calculate Adaption rate by using "Job Advertisement" as proxy. As an RIA consultant, I do most of my work in OpenLaszlo. However, I'm not ignorant to the fact that there are other alternatives out there. I love recommending Laszlo for projects, but I worry that it isn't taking off as fast as it could. Out of curiosity, can someone provide some insight on the adoption rate of OpenLaszlo? Specifically, I'd like to know some historical figures as well as the current adoption level, especially with regard to competing technologies (plain AJAX, Flex, etc) I think Laszlo is amazing, but I wonder why it's not being used more frequently in the RIA space. Any ideas on why this might be the case? Thanks so much for your thoughts! :) -Rich
