I apologize if this topic may have been covered in an alternate thread. I have searched the forums with very little luck on an exact answer to the question I'm posting/mailing. I have not yet done an extensive amount of work with Open Laszlo, but it appears to be a very elegant and strong alternative for developing rich internet applications, and I now find myself starting to move forward with more development using it.
I have been wondering what are the community's suggestions on host providers for Laszlo applications. Obviously I understand that there is the ability to deploy it in either DHTML or SWF (simple solution which would be supported by every host provider). I also understand that a great deal of the decision on a host provider is weighted by the degree, and architecture, of your back end implementation (e.g. layered approach interacting with another language, such as Java). In an application which you would need to interact with a back end layer designed/implemented in a language like Java, then the application would need to be deployed with the Laszlo server (requiring Java support; Servlet support for the Server to be specific). I have found the following as alternatives that have support specifically designed for hosting Laszlo applications, but it is very difficult to find any reviews on these host providers: http://www.arrowbreeze.com/LaszloHosting.html (Arrowbreeze) http://dnsforce.com/Open-Laszlo-Hosting.htm (DNS Force) I have also read random posts on the web which state GoDAddy.com "can support" Open Laszlo applications, and I do know that they provide both Flash and Java support, but Open Laszlo support is not something that they openly advertise. To conclude, any ideas, information and/or your opinion on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you greatly for your time and help with this.
