  This message is normal ... it's just saying there isn't a corresponding
  epsf.perl for epsf.sty ... basically because it ain't needed.

  This and the previous problem are due to problems with your gs.
  You should have at least gs 5.00 (this works fine for me) ... but make sure
  the fonts are installed for gs are installed where it can find them
  - looking at the error:

  ... my guess is this is the source of *all* your problems. See my email
  to another l2h user posted a day or so ago.

  What? ... dispense with the best (La)TeX setup you could possibly get.
  Nonsense. Sort out your gs; tex, latex, dvips are working just fine.
