Hello,
being a rather silent reader of the listserver until now, I fetched the
98.1pl5 some days ago because of the positive resonance here, as I have
to convert some papers soon.
When testing with several papers at hand, I noticed a somewhat peculiar
behaviour with respect to image generation: although everything
necessary was found (according to the install-test) for transparent
images, and no special html command inclusions were made in the latex
texts, some images were made transparent and some not. The latter ones
seemed to have the standard grey background, instead of the lighter
background I chose in my netscape 4.05 for Linux. The effects changed
from paper to paper, without any obvious cause that I could correlate
to.
I did not find hints for that problem in the user manual, therefore this
question to the list.
I tried the developers versions as of 16.6. (or 19.6.?) taken from the
Darmstadt server but that would not install correctly because the
latex2html did not find the Override.pm regardless to the correct
position in the latex2html folder and a correct path declaration in the
latex2html itself (as far as I understood the perl commands, although I
am no wizard with that at all).
My system: Linux 2.0.33, ghostscript 4.03, dvips 5.58f, teTeX 0.4 (as on
SuSE 5.2)
Any help would really be appreciated!
Bye,
Peter
