latex2html: pstogif problem

Hi,
        I am working on putting some chemistry formula on web. I am
coverting .ps file to .ppm and then .ppm to .gif file but the problem is
that gif file genrated is showing lot of extra space also. I tried to make
changes in page layout ( dimesion length and width) but still each
chemistry formula is taking 4.5"x6.5" spacing.
could you please help me
