latex2html: nasty image problem - How to trace?

Hi there,

I've run into some image conversion problems and lost the track....

Ok, the input file has the following structure:

{main.tex
 {\inputs{chapter}
     \inputs{text}
     contains many floats
     \inputs{another text}
     again many floats
 }
}

The first image entry in the image file looks like:

        % !!! IMAGES START HERE !!!
        \stepcounter{chapter}
        \stepcounter{section}
        {\newpage\clearpage
        % contents=\begin{figure} \begin{center} \leavevmode
        \epsfig{file=prof32a.eps.gz}\end{center} \end{figure}
        \lthtmlfigureA{figure1314}% \begin{figure}
          \begin{center}
            \leavevmode
             \epsfig{file=prof32a.eps.gz}    \end{center}
        \end{figure}%
        \lthtmlfigureZ
        \lthtmlcheckvsize\clearpage}

Anyhow, the first image to be generated is an empty page, the second
image is the eps-file in question.

Is there a way to trace why this is so?
