I disagree with you and I repeat that basic commands in LaTeX (those
defined in the Lamport book) should NOT be redefined since other packages
depend on it. That is works perfectly in LaTeX is no excuse, since I
said that L2H is not (La)TeX, and will never be, unless somebody can
re-implement all the intricate peculiarities of TeX the Program in Perl.

And then Ross will have to spend half a day verifying that is does not
break something else. Anyway, it is easier to ask and to disagree than
to make a global change inone's source file and adopt a more reasonable
high-level approach.

But I was only trying to suggest people to be reasonable and to minimize
possible complications. I prefer to be practical, to help solve problems
by doing some work myself, rather than to get upset by matters of
principle.
