Darn, I did it again (replied only to Ross)
Is it worth configuring the mailing list with a

It certainly wouldn't be as gratifying :>
What is the status of XSL (or whatever will be the likely presentation language
for XML) I understand IE is beginning to support parsing of XML, but it
wasn't clear to me what mechanisms were available for describing what a
<foo>should</foo> look like.
Are there any tools currently available for viewing XML (other than browsers)?
Alternatively, it may make sense, initially, to translate LaTeX ->XML, then
XML->HTML ?

Ah, but it _could_ be used for that! :>

I'd like to help.
I have a hard time visuallizing the roadmap, however. L2h, has a lot of parsing
and presentation intertwined, with a lot of HTML-isms embedded. It doesn't
seem wise to try to make L2H output BOTH HTML and XML (at least not the current
version). But in starting from scratch one doesn't want to lose all the work
and wisdom that's already found its way into l2h.
Ultimately, a L2X will have to be partly driven by a DTD, and also driven by
a mapping of LaTeX to the elements of the DTD.
(Having done that, of course, l2h could `simply' be l2x + html-dtd)
All in all, some damn tricky design work ahead!
When do we start :>

That bears repeating!
"thanks to Ross for his hard work on latex2html and his patience on this list."
