myself with RedHat 5.0. I imagine the same solution will
work for you ... it was suggested by some kind soul ...
in the Perl file `latex2html' of the 98.1p1 distribution
in `sub write_string_out' add the line
close SINPUT;
after
unless ($pid = fork) {
(which is line 1563, for me).
