I created a fairly large document
(http://www-ccrma.stanford.edu/CCRMA/Overview/) for our institution last
year using LaTeX and latex2html v.97.1. I recently tried to update that
document and found that latex2html doesn't work the way it used to. I end
up getting infinite loops created by /input commands (a problem I found
discussed in the newsgroup archives). I assume that this problem came
about when we upgraded to a new version of perl (or some other underlying
component of l2h).
I have tried upgrading our version of latex2html to various new
distributions, but I end up with either the same problems or new ones.
For example, ver2beta8 fixes the \input problem but doesn't seem to
respond to \tableofchildlinks anymore (I even tried a
\tableofchildlinks[ALL] first). Also, I tried this version with another
document of mine and it ended up doing very strange things to the image
generation ... image placement got offset by one figure throughout and
didn't behave as well as v97.
I used to think that v97.1 was the most stable version of l2h, but the
\input problem is something I can't workaround with this document. Is
there either a fix I can make to our v97.1 l2h script or a good, stable
newer version that I can use?
Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
