latex2html: Strange message?

I have a strange error message from l2:

message:

? brace missing for \usepackage

No number for "<FONTSIZE="-
1">Croissancedanslespayseurop&#233;ens(Maddison(1981)
)</FONT>"

Unknown math command: \frame , image needed.
couldn't convert character inodot into available encodings

counter page not defined

Unknown commands: p_at_ z_at_
Done.

I have verified my usepackage instructions, they have all necessary 
braces. L2H complains also because it cannot find perl libs for babel 
of french.pl is on Per5lib path.  My file compiles without any 
problem with latex and I do not have these strange commands p_at and 
z_at in my file.

Do you have any idea?
