sitting here (as i do) running the ctan mirror of latex2html
(support/latex2html), and listening to this list at the same time, i
do rather worry about l2h's external image.

_i_ know that ross beavers away *all* the time sorting out problems
and adding facilities. but to the wide world, my holding

-rw-r--r-- 1 ctan TeX 872707 Mar 4 1998 latex2html-98.1p1.tar.gz

(which comes from www-dsed.llnl.gov) is the latest and greatest.

if i run a mirror into a directory, it requires a lot of tedious
fiddling to simply do what ross suggests; what's more, that fiddling
is liable to be unstable ... i really wouldn't want to do it.

i would urge you, ross, to try to be less demanding of yourself --
release a few interim versions, send out a few patches, just be a bit
more relaxed about it all! it depresses me to read here that "version
x is a great improvement", but to know that none of the people i
support are going to see it...
