As per the advice on the Rosetta Import Policy<https://help.launchpad.net/RosettaImportPolicy>page[1], I've been exchanging emails with Gerald Schmidt, the developer of XML Copy Editor, in preparation of using Launchpad for the Khmer translation.
I have a couple of questions. What is the template that should be uploaded? I have a blank messages.pofile corresponding to us-en from Gerald. I uploaded that as us-en.po, but it seems Launchpad wants something more or something different. Or else maybe it just wants this file with the name messages.pot? Second -- Gerald indicated he'll continue to work with translations in German, French, Slovak, Swedish and zh-CN and zh-TW via external sources for now. Should I ask him to post po files for those languages so people here will know not to start translating from scratch? I thought also that having these translations online at Launchpad might help the translators of other programs. I know that in my own case, I'm keen to find how other programs have translated certain terms specific to XML, and I can see that the same thing might apply to, oh, somebody working on some Slovak translation. The program is distributed with .mo files for those languages, not .po files, btw. If the .po files aren't available for uploading to Launchpad for those other languages, is there some recommended way to alert people who might think to translate those versions? Thanks, Roger Sperberg PS: I see that the list of .po and .po files being held for review dates back to February -- is there any way to get XML Copy Editor reviewed in less than four months? Thx.
